Our research focuses on the development and application of novel approaches in cell-based high-throughput screening. We engineer instruments using rapid prototyping approaches and develop computational tools for analysis of phenotypic data sets from automated high-content imaging. We design miniaturized assay formats for massively parallelized microscopy of single cells as well as in vitro models and we apply our technologies e.g. for studying neurotransmission, pharmacology and toxicity using chemical and genetic libraries.
